Nice gun Al. You need to put

Nice gun Al. You need to put on some good grips though. The ribber ones actually make the recoil worse. Hard to beleive, but that is why the Premier Grade has the nice Rosewood Grips. They slip in your hand, and make the gun go up, rather than to the rear. Trust me. I have experimented with all the makes of ribber grips. All junk, made to make money, not help shooters. A pair of grips made from desert Ironwood would be the way to go. Heavy to absorb recoil, and beautiful to look at. And the price on Ironwood is very resonable. Mr Fishpaw could make you a set with no problems.

Good Guns, Good Friends, and Good Whiskey. I beleive Skeeter was on to something.

I like it.

I always liked the look of the freedom arms guns, they are a no b.s. serious gun. They kinda remind me of the 60's hotrod engines matte finish and built for one thing. probably a strange gun analogy huh? (whats a ribber?)

No Worries Al

I like it just the way you like it AL. It's your gun use it the way you like. That's a kind of take off on the money ad on the tube where they say that. Rambling again Chris! My only comment Al is the cleaning schedule on your fine firearms.... we simply have to clean more.......... although that magnaport sure beats having to blacken the front sight with a match.. Chris
P.S. Don, a ribber is a guy who "ribs" or jokes about others, Like me and you.

Grips

I have the Micarta grips that came with it also, shoot it both ways, and I'll tell you, the pachmeyer's are not that bad, they don't rip your skin off like the rubber grips found on the Redhawks and are comfortable with a firm 2 hand grip in the traditional "Keith" shooting position.

grips

I had Pachmeyer's on most of my S.B.H's and liked them alot. Not at all happy with the stock Redhawk rUbber grips they peel after a while. Where ya been Al? Any photoshop vacations coming up? (am I now a ribber?)Al, I'm sending you some WD-40 to clean your guns with, Chris and I have determined that is the best stuff to use.And a stainless steel brush to get that icky black stuff off the barrel with. Gotta go take Christmas lights down now.

Let's settle this...

... for at least right now till we get more input. I originally had the stock wood Ruger grips on my SBH and decided they weren't too special! I made a nice set of birdseye maple grips out of a piece of maple a friend had cut and dried for many years. I had those grips until about 95 or maybe 98 I think when I shot one day and one panel split beyond repair! I cried for months.. not really, just being dramitic for the 'people' peoples out there. I immediately bought the Pachmeyer rubber grips because the hot 44 mag loads were the cause of the broken grip and my sore finger from that darn dragoon guard! Things went well for a bit until I saw a set of stag grips on someones gun and immediately became jealous and envious as all get out. I got the faux stags from AJAX before they went bye-bye and put them on, really nice, and great for 44 special loads. Then I popped a few stout 44 mag loads and immediately knew why they make Pachmeyer rubber grips, to keep my finger from getting whacked by that darn dragoon guard! So I now use the stags for 44 specials and showing off and use the rubber Pachmeyers for serious shooting and when my hand needs some TLC. My biggest problem now is that silly grooved trigger that some ang-in-neer made with edges so sharp they can peel skin from a finger in no time. I am busily smoothing the edges of said trigger a little at a time until I find my comfort zone. If anyone wants to give me s.... about this have at it. Your obedient servant Chris the Ribber.
P.S. Yes thats my fiber optic front sight blade too!

Hey Chris, If times get hard up there I'd be glad to take that gun off yer hands. I'd be willing to pay part cash,1 fox skin and a bottle of Crown Royal. It's just the bottle though, Al was down this way last week at the photo shop and stayed the night and in the process emptied the bottle.I'm gonna go look in the reloading room for more barter items and let ya know.

Oh I bet!

And the cash would be hand delivered when you get here??????? I weren't born on the 18th of February you know!! On a more serious note I think Al is dissin you because he has better photo skills than you..also you didn't offer to buy his gun, that's kind of a let down.... Chris
