Hello folks,

I just joined and will be posting information about some of my interesting Colts.  I love guns with stories.

I'll be experimenting to see how everything works on this forum.

Here's one of my guns that I'll be showing soon.  Its a 2nd gen Sheriffs Model - Factory Engraved by Colt Master Engraver Howard Dove.

Don't know why...

...I always thought a sheriff model didn't have a front sight. Good work with the photos Al

If single actions had barrels

If single actions had barrels cut very short, without a front sight, they were called "Belly Guns", such as the one below with a 2-1/2" barrel.  They typically still had the ejector boss on the frame.  However, if they had a front sight, like this one with a 2" barrel, they were called  Sheriffs models.  The sheriffs models had frames without an ejector boss on the frame.
