I just recently acquired a Smith and Wesson 29-3 Silhouette. It is one of the originals without the endurance package. I don't shoot competitively but bought it for hunting and recreational shooting. I was wondering if any of you old Silhouette shooters out there who may have used this particular model may have some tips or loadings that would help with reaching the full potential of the barrel length/ sight set up on this model? Any cool stories to be shared would be great as well.

I haven't shot one or loaded

I haven't shot one or loaded for one in particular in 44, but in general H110 and or lil gun are going to be the two choices for reaching the potential .

Its not as easy to get to work but H4227 is also a slow burn rate.  Use hot primers and a tight crimp, it can (can not does) be a more accurate long range choice with medium weight bullets.  That being said if your going to be pushing 280 + in bullet weight,  H110 and lil gun are my choices with any big bore magnum.

As a side note I have a 41 mage I have worked with extensivly and the Keith load is about as good as it gets for a long range load thats easy to load.  The original load was 22 grains of 2400 and Keiths 250 gr bullet.  2400 has changed so back off a little and try that.

Good luck

Thanks Harrison

TREAT  THAT .44 SILHOUETTE

TREAT  THAT .44 SILHOUETTE GENTLY! IT WAS PRODUCED BEFORE THE ENDURANCE PACKAGE W A S INSTITUTED NAD WILL SHOOT LOOSE QUICKLY WTH HEAVY LOADS. MAY EVEN UNLOCK THE CYLINDER AND ROTATE BACKWARDS UPON FIRNG. THE LAST ONE I HAD DID. I WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 GRAINS OF #2400 WITH A 250.
