I have opportunity to make an offer to buy a second hand Cimmaron 1851 Navy Richards (Mason?) .38 Sp. conversion revolver.
I have already got a woking relationship with the seller since I am purchasing a Coyote Cap spec' ed '97 Winchester clone , so it's not as if I have a trust issue.
It might have been here at this forum where I discovered an inherent problem with the original conversions where the frame would eventually crack between the bolt screw well & the lower corner of the frame close to the hammer pivot.
Do anyone among the members here have anything to add to the mix about these reproduction conversions. This one is an Uberti with a 7-1/2" barrel.
I'd like to make my decision so that I can send the seller a message about an offer, but I thought that I should ask questions among some (hopefully) knowledgeable six gun afficionadoes first.
