After I got my .44 spl. shooting where I wanted it to- I went to Ruger's site and was just looking around- seens that they make a 5.5 inch stainless, Bisley in .45 Colt for Williams Shooter supply. I just couldn't help myself so I order one- I also ordered a set of Desert Ironwood burl grips from Bearpaw grips in MO. They both arrived at the same time but the gun just looked so lonesome- I went to Bark River Knives and ordered a Loveless Drop Point Hunter with Ironwood scales- got it today and found (like it was lost) a gunbelt on ebay, a holster from Henry Cassaday leather and I guess I'll be residing in the garage for a while. Like I said- I'm blaming you folks! The belt is a Desantis lined with 20 loops and I gave 45.00 for it shipped- I just looked at one like it and retail is $235.00 The holster came from H.C. Leather in Alabama- this guy is going to have to raise his prices soon so- if you need or want a good holster- you can find him on ebay too. The knife- we won't talk about here since I had to use some egg money to buy. The whole rig looks nice and I'm waiting until fall so I can strap it own and go hunting with it. Our Whitetails here are usually taken fairly close and I've always wanted to take one with a handgun. Like I said before- you folks caused all this!
I did it again and it's all you folks fault!

But I wnt to see some pictures!
I 'll try to get some photos today but I don't have a clue as to how to put them on here.
I'm happy to help. Resized and posted! Waiting for the leather photos.
Played around in photoshop a little with this one, if I knew the background color I could probably hit it a little closer, but at least it looks like stainless!
Anyway, SWEET, as we say here in South Park!
Al
The top photo is the .44 special and it is blued, the bottom is the .45 Colt and it is stainless. The knife in the top photo is a Bark River Loveless Skinner and the bottom knife is a James Sponaugle Wilderness Hunter model. The scales on the top knife are Ironwood and the bottom knife has Buckeye Burl. The backdrop material is Elk hide, that's the reason it's golden colored.
This is just info for anybody who orders a base pin from Bowen Classic Arms The .44 has one installed and it really got my attention. I got the pin and did everything as the instructions directed. The pin fit smoothly into the cylinder with a very tight fit. When I tried to insert it into the frame of the gun, it would go about a half inch and then stop. After a few minutes of scratching my head, I saw that the head of the pin was too large for the distance between the barrel diameter and the base pin hole in the frame. More head scratching followed. I then got out my calipers and measured the distance- yep- not enough distance between the two. A quick trip to a friend's shop and about five minutes of milling and measuring later, all is sweetness and light. I sent Mr. Bowen an e-mail basically asking if I'd lost my mind or was this part as I suspected. He confirmed my diagnoses and explained that the Ruger frame for this gun is of the .357(medium) frame coupled with the .44 cal. barrel. He was super nice and a gentleman to boot. He offered to replace or fix the pin but I was shooting it by then. His shop is filled with a great bunch of guys and if you're the least bit interested in how a superb revolver is built- you should buy his book- I've read mine until it's ragged
...did up a real nice Keith #5 for our 2011 Elmer Keith Shoot Grand Prize. Good people. PS Figured out the top one was blued when I tried to color balance it.
