I just picked up a Ruger NMBH made in 1997. Its got some pitting from black powder loads and careless claeaning but for wht I paid for it its well worth it. A new barrel and cylinder and I'll have a fine fishing/ Bear be gone gun. I cant understand why some people are that lazy to let a fine piece of American steel get pitted like that.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and I'll try to take before and after pics. Its no big thing as soon as I get my barrel vice back.

No Cleano

Gascheck;
I don't know where you call home, but I can tell you that in Mississippi gun cleaning seems to be a foreign idea. I get tagged to fix a lot of guns by acquaintances and friends; and they all have been in rotten condition due to poor or no maintenance.
You would think that in a state where almost everybody claims to be a hunter, things would be the opposite. But, there is not even such a thing as a real gun shop here. It's left to pawnbrokers to sell guns. Yuck.
Yearning for Montana again.
