I saw this on the net in some old ad story about how ads have chaged over the past 50 years and hope I am not copying someones stuff out of turn but it is a neat old ad. Sorry for the blurry parts. Chris

Cool...
I had to check the inflation calculator on the Officer's Model:
What cost $79.25 in 1955 would cost $637.92 in 2010.
My gosh, lookin at this ad sort of makes me think of how much more free we all were, or for those of us who are young here, our parents and grandparents were. Can anyone imagine seeing any Colt ad anywhere today? Of course, this was before lawyers, lawsuits, gun grabber fanatic politicians like up-chuck shumer, and so on. Don't know what a N.I.B. Officers Match would sell for today, closest I think you could get to new from the factory, but I'll bet it would command more n $600 and change.
Darn nice Chris, many thanks.
I flew from an island in the gulf of Alaska and boarded the airplane (Reeves Aleutian) with my rifle in a case. Carried that rifle all the way home to the Upper Peninsula town where I had lived most of my life and not a stray glance or a weird look from anyone. If I recollect right that was in 67 or there abouts. I bought my first handgun at fifteen, Mom co-signed for me and the Sheriff issued my handgun permit. That was another world ago. If you have to envision that past and can't then you've already lost more freedom than you'll ever get back. Chris
Great advertisement...They don`t make em like that any more. I have a 4 1/2" Match Target series 2 thats a joy to shoot...Also in the photo are a Colt Diamondback in 22 and a Colt conversion kit.
Your choice of guns is excellent, love those old Colts. Chris
