Sixguns by Keith

I traded in 1979 for a real nice original copy of 'Sixguns" and read and reread. I loaded the book to several trusted friends and somehow one of them became a scoundrel and I never saw it again. When they reprinted it about 10 or 12 years ago I got a copy and it resides in the non loaner part of the library along with a third edition of Shotguns by Keith and three other of his books the latest being the book of letters he wrote over the years. I am getting ready to pop that baby open and start reading.
We have a guy at all the gun shows in Spokane who does an excellent job of bringing quality books on a variety of subjects and is very fair priced. Around here that is a blessing even though there are afew quality gun shops that try their best to keep current loading manuals and gun books on the shelves.
I lost my copy the same way. Fortunately I had read it 4 or 5 times!
I had read that dang book so often some pages were thin enough to read both sides at the same time. Buying the reprint was one of my best moves. There are also some soft cover books that are compilations of Skeeter Skelton's stries originally published in Shooting Times. I wish they would do something similar for Elmer Keith. At this time Sixgunner's writings are about the best thing out there. He makes reading fun by combining facts with stories as did my old hero's.
I had a good friend that loaned me his copy and I was able to read it last year. Good stuff.
