One of my all time pet peeves is companies that advertise a product for a certain price but when you go to order the price is higher. This seems to happen a lot when a company flyer catalog arrives and when I go on-line to check the real price is different. I received a flyer yesterday for the month of April, saw a product priced at $22.00. I went on-line to check it out with thoughts of ordering when the price popped up at $27.00. A five dollar increase from the advertised price in the catalog. I e-mailed the customer service and was told the catalog price was no longer in effect due to increases. When I said I just received the catalog yesterday I was told the company had no control over price changes between printing time and the present. What ever happened to advertised price being good for the period advertised in the catalog? Namely April? Am I being to picky?  I didn't order the product because I didn't think it was a good price. Oh Yeah

I've learned the hard way to always, always double check, and triple check prices. One of the reasons I no longer order from a couple well known catalog outlets. Whenever possible, I try to support local small business, and I have found with the good ones that even if an item costs a little more, its better than waiting for the brown Santa Claus.

I agree!

Mak: I agree with buying local whenever possible but my problem is my disability so I do a lot of ordering on-line for convenience. I just try to weed out the bad apples when I can. Chris

Here in Pa, the advertized

Here in Pa, the advertized price is what it must be sold at. The PA government is always taking on the rip off artists here, and backing them down.

Good Guns, Good Friends, and Good Whiskey. I beleive Skeeter was on to something.

Absolutely

If I quote a price to someone, and they think about it, and then later want to purchase, I do not change that price, assuming a reasonable lapse of time. Honestly, I do not understand why some businesses think changing prices every few minutes is good policy.
