I haven't seen this episode yet but Shooting USA/ Impossible Shots was advertising Bob Munden shooting a S&W 44 mag at a 600 yard target. Don't know if he credits Elmer with the original shot or not. CHRIS

Just like the 'Ol Man said

I've put lead on a 30X30 steel plate at 600 yards, open sites, using the Keith sitting position, and seen it done by others. Seen it done by an old timer or two with old colts and home cast bullets. Top of rear site flush with base of the front site, target atop the front site, just like the old man said.

Nice shooting. What caliber,ect.
The more you do this stunt, the more hits you will have.Elmer said that in Sixguns, I beleive.

Good Guns, Good Friends, and Good Whiskey. I beleive Skeeter was on to something.

We have drug that 125 lb plate out to Will's every year for the past three years. I feed my Freedom Arms .454 with a long colt case, filled with H110 to the bottom of a 260 grain XTP. (around 1300 fps, comfortable for an afternoon of plinking). Couple of the 'ol boys have done equally well (or better) last 2 years with a 44/240 Keith over 2400, wern't there this year. Like the Grand Old Man said, "The more you do the stunt..." That being the case, I'll have more hits on it next year!
