Smith & Wesson Model 27-2

This my pride and joy right now. My Smith 27-2 3 1/2 inch barrel. The grips are elk stag by Grashorn Gunworks.

Sixgun Sights

Since my eyes are aging as fast as my old body, I've been trying all kinds of combinations of sights on my Ruger SBH. I've been using this gun bcause it has a Weigand front ramp I installed so I can change front sights at will thereby making experimentation easy. I also have used my Python since I can change the front pretty easy. I have tried all types of front beads and types, gold, silver, blade; even fiber optic both red and green. For the rear I have tried square notch, shallow vee, u-notch and flat blade with a solid line down the middle.

Eagle Grips

Has anybody ever used Eagle grips on their handguns? I fell in love with the Ebony grips for the python and finally ordered aset for mine. Just wondering if I am OK? Chris

New Holster

Here's a new Simply Rugged crossdraw for my Colt 45 NF. It will probably fit my Ruger SBH too once it's broken in a bit. Chris

A Very Old Gun

When I was a lot younger I met a man who would become my good friend, hunting and fishing buddy, and a mentor to a young man who probably needed direction. Fred was a family man with a wife and four daughters and I think he secretly longed for a son. Fred was always ready to go partridge hunting or trout fishing on a moments notice and more often than not, Fred was there coaxing me to get a move on because life is too short to waste outdoor time. When we weren't hunting or fishing we were throwing cookout parties for the families and enjoying the outdoors.

Some Leather

When I was younger I made some holsters for some of my guns. The middle one is my first attempt and dates to the 1980's. The right one is not a sixgun but I'm showing it anyway as I feel it is an example of how I improved a few years later. The fancy one is a holster and belt that I got from a Sear's store about 40 years ago, I don't know if this was a popular seller or not but it has served me fine all this time. Chris

3 screw Blackhawk

A little old, a little new:
Early 60's 4-5/8 Blackhawk convertable, 45 Colt / 45 ACP.
This falls along the lines of the PPP, close as I have anyway!
Easy to pack all day on hunting excursions, or a rural carry gun.
A case full of H110, about 24 grains or so, topped with a Hornady 260 XTP Mag on top. For the holster a custom Blade-tech drop was my choice, very good retention and quick release.

A Special Sixgun

My great grandfather and his bride came to America in the 1890's and stayed in Chicago long enough to have a daughter, my grandmother. They soon moved to Wisconsin and settled on a 360 acre homestead where my grandmother grew up. When she married, her and her husband moved to Upper Michigan where they lived and had daughters, one was my mother. My grandmother told me about her life on the farm when I used to spend summers with her there as she kept it as a summer place when she inherited it.
