Ruger Blackhawk luck
Submitted by cowdog on Tue, 07/16/2013 - 05:35I am on my second Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt. The first one was the 4.58 barrel I had ten years ago. The sights were so off I had to buy an extended screw and cut out the top of its holster to let it fit. Traded it off. Just bought one with the 7.5 barrel a few weeks ago. With rear sight cranked all the way down I am still 6" low at 25 yards. I had a 3 screw 357 that I am sorry I traded off years ago, and have a single six that shoots dead on with either cylinder. Seems my luck is bad with with Blackhawks in this caliber.
Where to find single action sixgun handling basics?
Submitted by Irelander on Fri, 06/28/2013 - 13:22I'm really digging my 44SPL Vaquero Sheriffs model. So far I have just been informally plinking and testing loads. I'd love to carry this gun as my CCW but feel that I need to practice with it more to really get the basics down. This is my first single action and I'd like to know the basics of loading/unloading so I can work on technique and speed. I'd also like to know the standard technique for cocking the hammer. I was shooting two-handed the other day and found it very comfortable to cock the hammer back with my support hand.
New Sixgun - 629 Classic
Submitted by Irelander on Tue, 06/04/2013 - 11:48Hi guys. Not much action on the forums lately so I thought I'd spice things up with a pic of my new sixgun. Its a S&W 629-6 5" Classic and I am loving it. I had a 629PC model with the 2+ inch barrel and I gotta say that i didn't enjoy it all that much. So I ended up trading for this beauty. I am very impressed with the fit, function, trigger, and overall classic appearance of this gun. It shoots my new load of 5.5gr Bullseye under a 240gr LSWC very well too. Now I just need some leather for it.

1) the diameter of the base pin

BlackHawk 45 Convertible
Submitted by quirtevans on Sat, 02/23/2013 - 13:02Has anyone seen the BlackHawk 45 Convertible in person? It comes with 2 cylinders, one in .45colt & the other in .45acp; pretty neat huh???
They also have a model in .357/9mm...
Vaquero is another model available in the .45 Convertible, but I'm told that its only available through Davidsons, as I had a local dealer check for me...
Take a look on-line, I'm curious as to what you think...
