Sixguns

Anything sixgun related

A new project

I just picked up a Ruger NMBH made in 1997. Its got some pitting from black powder loads and careless claeaning but for wht I paid for it its well worth it. A new barrel and cylinder and I'll have a fine fishing/ Bear be gone gun. I cant understand why some people are that lazy to let a fine piece of American steel get pitted like that.

Ruger New Vaquero 45

Picked up nickel plated Vaquero, in 45colt. I'm curious if anyone else has one and what your thoughts are; including grips, any customizing or other tips...
I reload, so kindly share your favorite powder; I'm probably leaning towards TiteGroup & Berrys bullets...
Thanks in advance...

Overhauled?

Thought I would share my work of late. I tore my Colt New Frontier 45 apart and smoothed everything up and put it back together. Put my old walnut grips one just for a change of pace and thought it would shoot a bit better. So to date it has a new rear ellaison sight, smoothing job and old walnut grips. It's too much fun working on guns so now I will load some new ammo up to try it out. Chris

Why Come Here ? . . . .

Everyone will have their own answer to this question. But I know why I recently signed up for this forum. (Though I was a member years
ago of the old sixgunner forum).  I like revolvers. I like to go into the mountain backcountry, and a revolver is a good thing to have up there
where you may run into big four legged critters - in addition to the rare unsavory two legged variety. I own some semi auto handguns, but

Charter Arms Bulldog - What To Expect ?

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I know there's a lot of experience going back many years here, so thought this would be a good place to ask my questions.
I recently purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog. This is a stainless steel first generation gun with serial number in the 940,000 range. I intend to only use appropriate loads
in this revolver - - 200 gr Gold Dot in the factory CCI and Speer loadings. Also a little bit of 210 gr Black Hills cowboy action loads. And later, my own handloads.  I noticed

Carrying "N-Frame" sixguns

Hello everybody,
as an avid hunter of wild boars here in Germany I have a problem that might be nit a rela one in the U.S. -
In Germany hunting with handguns is not allowed except when it comes to the "coup de grâce", the finisher on wounded game.  The Germsan hunters are allowed to carry only while hunting in their hunting ground.  B u t  normal people sometimes call the police when they see men (or women) carrying handguns ( perhaps you know  Germany has one of the strictest gun laws of the worls).
